Gingham has always been a staple in my summer wardrobe, so I’m pretty stoked to see that it’s trending in a major way in all of my favorite stores this season. Today I’m rounding up a few pieces that I’m currently craving as well as a few old favorites that have served me well over the years.

If you’ve been hanging out here for a while, then you know that I love simple, classic styles with a bit of a twist. This striped shirtdress that I picked up a few years back fits the bill perfectly, and it’s a piece that I reach for again and again each spring. The contrasting stripes, pockets, and drop-waist make it a little more special than your basic shirtdress. And I love the fact that I can dress it up for the office with a blazer and heels, or wear it casually as I did here with ankle boots and a fedora.
As a busy entrepreneur living in New York City, I am always on the go… especially on the weekends! Between workouts, errands, hanging out with friends and coming up with blog content, it’s more than enough to keep me on my toes. While I’ll always be a dresses and heels kinda gal at heart, there are definitely those days when I need clothes that function. However, that doesn’t mean I let myself look like a slouch… Au contraire! When Dick’s Sporting Goods® tapped me to check out their selection and put together a look that combines fashion AND function, I immediately thought: “GAME ON!”
I’ve always tried to stay active, but recently I’ve decided to switch things up a bit and get out of my normal routine of home-based DVD workouts. So far, I’ve started going to the gym, and I may even take up a few dance classes. Of course, that means my faded boy shorts and worn out tees no longer cut it, so I’ve had to start building up a stash of cool-looking workout gear – which (let’s be honest!) is half the fun!
My old tennis shoes were in dire need of replacement, but I found a great deal on these printed kicks from Dick’s Sporting Goods. And while I was at it, I went ahead and scooped up this head-to-toe Adidas outfit which transitions perfectly from the gym to pounding the pavement around the city. Just a quick change of shoes, a swipe of red lipstick, and a nubby sweater coat, and I was ready to go!
I’ve been on an Addidas kick lately because of their fun designs, and I had a blast trying on different sporty looks in the fitting room! i think the middle one is my fav, probably because it reminds me of something I would have worn the heck out of in the 90s, lol! If you haven’t been to a Dick’s Sporting Goods lately, then I highly recommend it. They have locations all over, and each one has a HUGE selection of top athletic brands.
