Headbands Are the Reason Why I No Longer Believe In Bad Hair Days…

As a busy mom to an active toddler, one of the last things I have time for in the mornings is to fuss with my hair. However, that doesn’t mean I have to walk around looking like a schlump. Au contraire! Ever since I (re)discovered headbands, I’ve been like a kid in a candy store picking out my favorites to match my every whim and mood. I’m so happy that headbands have been popping up pretty much everywhere lately, so there’s never any shortage of new prints, colors, and silhouettes to try. One look I’ve been loving lately is pairing my headbands with a statement earring. I’ve shared a few of my favorite looks above, and there’s no doubt I’ll be adding to my collection soon.

Cozying Up to Maternity Style

Not gonna lie, I went through a rough patch recently in trying to feel inspired while dressing my ever-expanding belly. Shopping is typically one of my favorite pastimes, but let’s be real… in-store maternity fashion is mainly lackluster at best. I mean, just how much ruching and empire waists can a gal take?!

Luckily, I rediscovered my mojo, and I’ve been having more fun with my wardrobe again. This outfit isn’t much – just an oversized sweater that I scored off the clearance rack and some old high-waisted leggings – but the bold bright colors are what made my heart sing. I went all out an even swapped out the boring turquoise laces in my hiking boots for these cheery red ones and dug my matching mittens out of storage. This outfit instantly made me feel cute, cozy and more like myself again.

About the Fit:
This sweater is yet another H&M clearance rack find. It’s a non-maternity size medium, so I can definitely still wear it even after my bump is a distant memory. It’s currently sold out online, but I’ve seen tons of them in stores recently and think it’s a great steal at just $20. I wish it came in more colors (cobalt blue would be so dreamy), because I’d definitely snag another one.

Dressed for Romance

After working from all day while dressed in leggings and a sports bra, my husband Face-Timed me to see if I wanted to meet up for an impromptu dinner date. Fifteen minutes later, I was primped, coiffed and dressed in this romantic lace frock that I scooped up last year at H&M. I’m excited to see that they’ve kept a good thing going this season with even more beautiful dresses to choose from that won’t break the bank.

I kept the look clean and simple with nude sandals and this gorgeous vintage straw clutch from the 1950s that I picked up at a random consignment shop in Tarrytown. It seems like straw handbags of all shapes and sizes have been popping up all over my Instagram feed lately, and I’ve been happy to pull my modest collection out of storage for the season.
