Asos Striped Party Dress {ASOS Striped Party Dress, PRADA Sunglasses, H&M Earrings, ALDO Glitter Clutch, J. CREW Glitter Heels (similar)}

All dressed up, and no place to go… yet!

But with a dress this fun and colorful, can you really blame me?! One of my fashion rules of thumb is that if I run across a fabulous dress, I get it even if I don’t have a particular event to wear it to right away. Because let’s face it, the worst time to shop is when you’re under a deadline. This school of thought has served me well over the years, and I’m rarely ever pressed for what to wear for special occasions anymore.

About the Fit:
This one runs true to size, and the fit and flare shape makes it flattering on a variety of silhouettes. Tea length dresses can be tricky, but this one works on my 5’7″ frame. If you’re petite, you may have to get it hemmed unless you prefer to wear it as a floor length gown. The bottom is very poufy thanks to a few layers of tulle – perfect for twirling the night away with someone special!

I’m a HUGE fan of the LWD for warmer months, and I’m excited to reveal the latest addition to my collection.  The billowy sleeves and gold lurex dots are what completely sold me on this dress (not to mention the sale price!), and I can definitely see it becoming my go-to piece when I need to get all fancy this summer.

I also want to tell you guys about my new clutch (first seen here).  I’ve been wanting a really nice, go-to evening purse for a couple of years now.  Since I could never settle on one that didn’t break the bank, I always wound up just getting a cheap-y bag from Forever 21 or H&M and then not really loving it a short while later.  But that all changed once I discovered Judith Leiber’s Overture collection.  I’ve long admired the brand’s pricier, crystal-laden pieces that are more like works of art.  However, the hefty price tag always kept them out of my clutches (pun intended).  Luckily, the Overture bags start at a MUCH more palatable price point but still boist great quality and design.  I couldn’t be more pleased with my bag, and I look forward to carrying it for years to come.
