Hey peeps!

I hope you enjoyed a relaxing 3-day weekend as much as I did.  I used the time to finally take down my Christmas tree.

As for today’s outfit, I planned it around these boots that I just had to have a few years ago… the one’s from this campaign.  The price tag was a little too steep for me at the time, so I tracked a lookalike pair down on eBay and wore them a whopping THREE times (shameful, I know).  In any case, Ive decided to get my money’s worth and wear them a little more often.

It’s officially the bleakest part of winter over in my neck of the woods, and you can stick a fork in me because I’m done with it.  To help shake off the winter blues,  decided to add some punchy colors into the mix instead of the blacks and grays that I’ve been favoring as of late.

This pink coat that I snatched up on super sale at J. Crew has to be my favorite purchase of the season.  It instantly jazzes up a look without much effort.  And effort is generally something I don’t have much of to spare as I’m dashing off to work in the morning!

What go-to pieces do you rely on this winter to help spice up your look?

I generally try to avoid primping in public, but I have no problem reaching for a glamorous tube of lipstick for a quick touch-up.  Givenchy Rouge Interdit in Shocking Pink layered with a quick swipe of YSL Volupte Sheer Candy in Succulent Pomegranate is my favorite combo for a cheery pink lip.  The best part is that the packaging is just as fun as the lipsticks themselves.  When I want a more natural look, I constantly reach for  my Senna Cosmetics Double-Dose Lip Lacquer in Chocolate Cherry.  It’s two-sided (and tastes exactly how it sounds!), so I apply the chocolate to my entire mouth and dab a little cherry to just the center of my lips.  But no matter what shade I’m wearing, I always reach for my Figs & Rouge Organic Balm in Sweet Geranium first to help hydrate and moisturize my pout.
