Closet Confection: Bright Like the Sun

Spring has finally sprung (sorta), or at least it feels like it when I wear tons of bright colors.  I wore this outfit to work last week, and it was quite the topic of conversation (in a good way, of course).  It’s really nothing ground-breaking: just a pencil skirt and a simple v-neck tee, but the colors really make it sing.  Since the colors in my outfit were so bold, I decided to go big or go home with my accessories as well, and piled on a few of my favorite gold baubles.  You may recall this chain necklace from my kinda-sorta DIY tutorial a while back.  I love the way it looks layered with a more delicate gold necklace, and it’s a combo I’ve been reaching for regularly before I dash out of the door.

I don’t why, but these sneakers make me feel so sassy every time I wear them (which has actually been quite often because they’re super comfortable).  I admit, I was not feeling the wedge sneaker trend when it first emerged on the scene, but I’ve since become a convert.

What do you guys think about the high-top wedge sneaker trend?

Aaaaand the winter chill continues…

It seems like leopard print has been all the rage for the past few years, but recently I’ve become partial to snakeskin.  I scooped this dress up at H&M last year for ~$15, and it was worth every penny.  With a few well-placed baubles and a dramatic coat, you’d never guess that the rest of my outfit cost less than a cab ride.

I definitely see more items of the snakeskin variety in my wardrobe’s future, and below are some of the pieces that are on my radar:
