I’m always a sucker for easy cotton pieces when it’s warm out, and this Old Navy striped sundress was perfect for exploring under the blazing Miami sun. I paired it with my trusty straw hat and matching tote that I picked up from J. Crew a couple of years ago. They’ve held up well over time, and they’re my constant companion for beach getaways because they’re so light and easy to pack. I love classic pieces like these that never seem to go out of style and can be mixed-and-matched a gazillion different ways.

Miami Beach {Crochet Coverup}

It’s been chilly and rainy in New York these past few weeks, so looking at these photos of me frolicking in the ocean with 80-degree temps just a few short weeks ago feels like a dream. Oh well… at least I have my memories to keep me warm.

In other news, you wouldn’t believe how difficult it was for me to find a white bikini! I knew I wanted something clean and simple that wouldn’t detract from the beautiful and intricate detail of my coverup, so I scoured the internet for a solid week before settling on this cute little number from Old Navy. It’s suprisingly supportive for an inexpensive bathing suit, a fact that I attribute to the removeable halter straps. The site claims the top can be worn as a strapless bandeau, but I didn’t find that to be a viable option if you’re over a C-cup, like me.

If you were following along with my vacation adventures on SnapChat, then you saw when I first revealed this gorgeous hand-crocheted coverup from Club Monaco. I love how it’s flirty but still leaves a little something to the imagination… well, at least by Miami standards, lol! I couldn’t find it online, but I’ve seen them recently in stores with a few other styles as well. I’ll admit, they’re a little pricey, but I managed to snag one on sale. In the meantime, below is a roundup of my favorite breezy white coverups at different price points.

Travel: One Day in Key West

renting a Convertible for One Day in Key West

On the third day of our vacation, Eric and I woke up bright and early, loaded up our convertible, and set out to spend one day in Key West – about a 90-minute drive from our resort in Islamorada. The weather was picture perfect, so we put the top down and set our sights on some fun in the sun.

Renting a Golf Cart for One Day in Key West

Parking can be something of a nuisance in Key West, so we ditched our car soon after arriving. Our first trip to Key West together was almost 11 years ago on our honeymoon. Back then we rented bikes to explore the area, but this time we opted to rent this cute little golf cart to shuffle us around town. This made it a lot easier for us to cover more territory, but still allowed us to tuck into interesting little nooks and crannies that we otherwise might have missed in a car. And try as I might, Eric refused to let me drive…
Key Lime Soda - One Day in Key West

I didn’t mind too much though, since that left my hands free to nosh on Key Lime pie along the way and wash it all down with Key Lime soda while I was at it! Choosing the best key lime pie is a tough one because there are so many options. And besides, if you’re spending one day in Key West, half the fun is going on your tasting adventure while you’re there. But Kermit’s and Key Lime Pie Company are definitely worthy contenders.

When I wasn’t stuffing my face, we made stops at Key West Butterfly and Nature ConservancyErnest Hemingway Home & Museum, Audubon House and Fort Zachary Taylor before making our way to Duval Street for an early dinner at the La Te Da Hotel.

And of course I had to cool off while channeling my inner Southern Belle with a folding fan and ice cold glass of sweet tea before dinner!

After dinner, we poked around a few shops on Duval Street to work off some calories before heading down to Mallory Square for the nightly sunset celebration. Watching the beautiful colors of the sun as it set into the Gulf of Mexico was the perfect ending to our day.
Southermost Point - One Day in Key West

Key West will always be special for us since it’s one of the first places we ever ventured together as a married couple, and I look forward to going back again and experiencing its magic!
