Runnin’ Through the 6 {Toronto Travel Diary}

After our stint in Niagara Falls, Eric and I were off to explore Toronto. I’ve been to Toronto a number of times, but I always find something new to experience while I’m there. While there weren’t any official Drake sightings during our stay, we still managed to have a great time. You can’t tell by the gorgeous blue skies in these photos, but there was a torrential downpour the morning we arrived in the city. Undeterred, we ducked into Ripley’s Aquarium for a couple of hours to wait out the rain. This turned out to be the best decision ever as there was so much to see. I had to be reluctantly torn away from the jellyfish and shark tanks because I seriously could have sat and stared all day.

Once the rain clouds cleared away and the sun poked out, we skipped over to the waterfront for a scenic cruise through the Toronto Islands (but not before grabbing a beaver tail for the ride!). Luckily for us, the weather was picture-perfect for the rest of our stay. We were famished by the time our boat docked early in the evening, so a quick Yelp search led us over to Flock for a casual, yet DELICIOUS, fried chicken dinner with all of the fixings. It was the perfect cap to a relaxing day before hitting the road again to venture further east.

Falling for Niagara {Denim Shortalls + Striped Top}

niagara-falls-2 {Shortalls, Striped Top, Forever 21 Boater Hat (similar), Espadrille Sneakers}

Rcently, Eric and I took a few days off to visit one of my favorite places in the world… Niagara Falls! It’s no secret that I’m a city-slicker at heart, but the sheer force and natural beauty of the falls leaves me in awe every single time. If you’ve never been, a trip should definitely be at the top of your bucket list. You can view the falls from both the American and Canadian sides, but I definitely recommend staying overnight on the Canadian side as there are tons more attractions and restaurants to keep you entertained (plus the American dollar goes a loooong way over there right now).

It’s rare for me to wear shorts, but I just couldn’t resist this adorable (and super comfy!) pair of shortalls. This turned out to be the perfect outfit for our excursion (you get totally soaked from the knees down when you cruise the falls, so bring a change of flip-flops!), and I can’t wait to wear them for a whole slew of summer adventures. I’d been searching for a pair of espadrille sneakers, so I was pretty stoked when I found these cuties online. They kept my tootsies happy through tons of walking during our trip.

Postcards from Vizcaya

vizcaya-museum-gardens-red-off-shoulder-dress-5 {Asos Off-the-Shoulder Dress  (only $25!), Club Monaco Straw Hat (old, but also love this one), Salvatore Ferragamo Sunglasses, Chanel Espadrilles}

Talk about #HouseGoals! Eric and I spent a wonderful afternoon touring the beautiful grounds of Vizcaya Museum & Gardens. The estate was originally built as the winter home of John Deering during the 1910s. Visiting grand historic homes of yore is one of my favorite things to do on vacation, and Vizcaya absolutely did not disappoint.

Since the blazing Miami sun can be brutal, I opted for cool comfort in this simple off-the-shoulder frock from Asos – easily the best $25 I’ve spent in a while!

As you can imagine, it was hard to tear myself away from these amazing views! If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend a stop.
