While I’m definitely a city-slicker at heart, I do enjoy spending the occasional weekend in the great outdoors.  For a recent roadtrip to Lake George, I decided to travel light and easy: 2 pairs of shorts, 2 tops, a bathing suit, and a sweatshirt served me just fine.  We had a grand ol’ time on the lake and venturing up the surrounding mountains, and I even went rafting for the very first time! Who knows, a glamping trip might very well be in my future.

It feels like I’ve been working like a dog this summer, but I have managed to sneak in a few day trips here and there.  Recently, we hopped on the Metro North train to visit the Culinary Insitute of America (where I seriously questioned my decision to major in Psychology rather than Pastries in college).  Afterwards, we trekked across the Walkway Over the Hudson (and noshed on the MOST amazing kettlecorn I’ve ever had in my life), and enjoyed the beautiful scenery before heading back to the city.
