True Story: My husband absolutely hates it when I wear denim overalls (sorry honey!), but I absolutely love ’em. Since marriage is all about compromise, I try to keep my overall-wearing to a minimum… for the most part. In any case, I was doing some serious spring cleaning over the weekend (I’m about ~80% with my wardrobe switch, woohoo!), and this was the perfect outfit to toss on for a quick break to grab some grub in our neighborhood.
I scooped up this pair from Uniqlo for my trip to Alaska a while back, so they’ve been worn in to that perfect softness that denim gets after repeated wearing. I’m on the lookout for a new pair of denim overalls to break-in (preferably in black, olive or dark rinse), so I’ve included a roundup of my favorite contenders just in case any of your are on the hunt for some yourself.

This is easily one of my favorite outfits of the season… and yes, I realize that’s not saying much since we’re only about a week in! But seriously, as soon as I saw this bohemian-style dress I knew that I had to have it in my closet. Since it’s not quite sandal weather yet, (thank goodness, because I’m in dire need of a pedicure) I decided to pair it with these gorgeous Alaia booties that I picked up on clearance at Sak’s Off Fifth a while back. They were a total splurge, but worth every penny. They’re also pretty excruciating to walk in but visually striking enough for me to ignore that fact… especially when I know I have a backup pair of flats in my bag to offer some relief. Le sigh… the things I stupidly and repeatedly we do for fashion!
