J. Crew Postcard Prints

J. Crew Postcard Print Skirt & Top, J. Crew Bow Top, NYC Fashion Blogger, Central Park{J. CREW Postcard Print Top & Skirt, PRADA Sunglasses, H&M Tassel Earrings and Bow Sandals}

When J. Crew rolled out this postcard print, I just knew I had to have it. I took a gamble and waited a week or two for a sale to crop up (because let’s face it, who really pays full price at J. Crew?), and my patience paid off when I scored this top on the cheap! I didn’t get so lucky with the skirt as it sold out before going on sale, but luckily good old Nordie’s came through in a pinch. The two pieces together make a pretty bold statement, and I got tons of compliments while taking these photos. But you can definitely tone down the look by wearing them separately.

About the Fit:
Both the top and skirt fit true-to-size. The top is made of a substantial stretchy cotton and is a great length for wearing both tucked and untucked. Crew necks can be tricky if you have a larger bust (I usually opt for v-necks and scoop necks), but this tee was just too cute to pass up. The skirt hits right below the knee on my 5’7″ frame, and it also comes in petite (and tall) sizing.

Pietro Nolita {A Study in How to Wear Pink}

Pietro Nolita, how to wear pink, nyc fashion blogger, h&m pink dress, pink off-the shoulder-dress{H&M Pink Off-the-Shoulder Dress, FOREVER 21 Straw Boater Hat, BAUBLEBAR Earrings, COACH Sandals}

Delicious (and healthy) Italian food, plus all pink everything..?

Well go ahead, and sign me up!

After seeing it’s bubble gum pink exterior pop up all over my Instagram feed for ages, I finally made my way downtown to Pietro Nolita. And of course, I just had to dress for the occasion in a fun, girly head-to-toe pink ensemble. Not gonna lie, I felt kinda basic when I strolled up and saw a line of women waiting outside to take pictures. But hey, sometimes a gal’s gotta do what a gal’s gotta do for the ‘gram…

In addition to having the cutest decor, the food was also pretty good. Their schtick is “healthy” Italian, and I will say that I felt much lighter and more energetic than I usually do after stuffing my face full of pasta. We started with the goat cheese and oat tomato crositini and split fusilli al limone and chicken on the brick for our main entrees. Everything was great, but the pasta especially knocked it out of the park for me. We left feeling full, but not overstuffed, and even saved room for dessert at the OddFellows Ice Cream Co. pop-up shop around the corner (they’re caramel popcorn cone is to die for).

If you ever find yourself in Manhattan and decide to give Pietro Nolita a whirl, be sure to dress the part. The dress I’m wearing is sold out in pink on H&M’s website, but it also comes in white and blue. But no need to fret, ‘cuz I’ve rounded up a few more options for you below to help you on your way to totally pinked out bliss!

About the Fit:
This dress fits like a dream, and it’s hard to go wrong. I got my normal size and was able to wear it straight off the rack with no issues. I LOVE the fact that it has pockets, and the shorter length is perfect on my 5’7″ frame without showing off all the goods. 😉

Old Navy White Eyelet Dress

Old Navy White Eyelet Dress{OLD NAVY White Eyelet Dress, FOREVER 21 Boater Hat (similar), J. CREW Straw Tote & Pom Pom Earrings, PRADA Sunglasses, G.H. BASS Espadrille Sneakers (similar)}

When the temps start to get steamy, the last thing I want to do is anything waste time poring over my closet. That’s why I love simple, easy pieces like this white eyelet dress from Old Navy. The cami style is perfect for warm summer days, and I’ve collected a few in different colors and patterns over the years. They always go on sale too, so you can often snag them for around $15 or less! I usually toss a few in may bag whenever I go on vacation because they travel well.

About the Fit:
This style is very forgiving and runs pretty true to size. I’m 5’7″ and the length is just perfect for a casual weekend look – not too long and not too short. The adjustable shoulder straps and panel of elastic in the back also make it easy to accommodate a variety of figures.
