We ate.
We shopped.
We walked across a waterfall.
We took a dinner train through the countryside.
We toured the Old City.
We caught a free outdoor viewing of Cirque du Soleil.
Nous avons même parlé un peu français.

In a nutshell: We had a blast doing all. the. things.

While I’m definitely a city-slicker at heart, I do enjoy spending the occasional weekend in the great outdoors.  For a recent roadtrip to Lake George, I decided to travel light and easy: 2 pairs of shorts, 2 tops, a bathing suit, and a sweatshirt served me just fine.  We had a grand ol’ time on the lake and venturing up the surrounding mountains, and I even went rafting for the very first time! Who knows, a glamping trip might very well be in my future.

It was one fine day indeed when I wore this outfit…

Eric and kicked things off by taking advantage of Summer Streets and enjoyed a lovely stroll down Park Avenue without any cars getting in our way (although we still had to keep a watchful eye out for errant cyclists).  Afterwards, we had a coma-inducing (in the best, most deliciously possible way) at Sarabeth’s. Two stacks of pancakes later, we fought the urge to go home and nap and instead ventured off to Governors Island for Fête Paradiso, a French carnival featuring a collection of antique carnival rides that were restored in France before making their way to NYC.  The day ended with a gorgeous view of the downtown Manhattan skyline and a relaxing ferry ride back to the city.
