In case you couldn’t tell, I’m really into straw hats this season. They just add that extra finishing touch to an outfit and help make it special. Ever since I purchased this one for my vacation last month, I’ve found myself looking for excuses to wear it more and more. In fact, I planned this entire outfit around it. I’ve added a few other chapeaus to my collection over the past month or so, and I can’t wait to style them up and share them here on the blog. In the mean time, here a few other gems that have caught my eye…

I’ll admit, it took me a while to get down with Madewell. I’ve gone into the store a few times, but always left empty-handed. When I step into a store, I like to be immediately dazzled with bright colors and bold prints. And if you’ve ever been inside of Madewell , then you know that just ain’t happenin’. Long story made short: I wrote the place off as “boring” in my mind and never gave it a fair shot.

As luck would have it, I found myself trapped inside of the Madewell on 5th Avenue one cold rainy day as I waited for the weather to subside. With a full 15 minutes to meander and browse, I found tons of things I liked. I zeroed in on this cute little chiffon dress and couldn’t wait to share my first Madewell purchase with you guys. But of course, life got in the way EVERY SINGLE TIME I wore it in hopes of snapping a few pics for the blog. Either my tights got runs in them or someone (usually me) forgot to put the memory card back in the camera.  And once or twice… GASP… my shoes just weren’t cute enough to do the outfit justice.  So here I am, 3 months later, showing you a dress you can no longer buy.

As I hang my head in fashion blogger shame, I thought I’d at least share with you guys some other goodies I’m itching to try out the next time I pop into Madewell…
