Sweet Little Nothings

Happy Sunday, peeps!

On Mondays when people ask me how my weekend was, my reply is always the same: “Too short!”

I’ve got a lot of projects on my plate these days, so this weekend I made a point to just kick back and relax.  Below are just a few things that are making me smile as of late.  Enjoy!

I’ve worn Kushyfoot socks for years, so I was more than happy to oblige when they asked me to road test these comfy pair of Flats to Go.  They’re super cozy and lightweight – just perfect for lounging around the house.  I definitely plan to stash a pair in my luggage for my next great adventure because I hate walking around barefoot in strange hotel rooms. These will roll up nice and easily into my carry-on.

You may have noticed on Instagram that I’ve been stalking the clearance racks at Anthropologie.  In addition to loads of fancy frocks, they’ve also got tons of great deals on home goods (and for a while everything was an additional 50% off in store!). I scooped up this adorable little owl mug that makes my morning tea much more pleasurable.

For the most part, I try to limit my television consumption.  But this weekend my Roku and I have become best friends while I completely give myself over to a Columbo/Murder She Wrote marathon, courtesy of Netflix.

I’m still going strong in my journey to healthier eating habits, but cooking more of my own meals is time-consuming.  To help speed things along, I took some time out yesterday to whip up a large batch of homemade pasta sauce to use throughout the week.

Lastly, I had a blast yesterday morning testing out a few new makeup products for an upcoming Valentine’s Day post.  I can’t wait to share it with you guys, but here’s a quick preview for now.

Holiday festivities are in full swing, so I’ve been spending lots of time primping and prepping for various soirées.  Below are a few tools of the trade I use to help me unleash the pretty…Pantene Hair Products2

The lovely folks over at Pantene sent me a box of goodies to test drive, so I spent a good part of Saturday morning playing beauty shop in preparation for a holiday cocktail party later that evening.

Holiday Curls9

In general, I’m a no-fuss, no-muss kinda girl when it comes to my hair, but I wanted to try something a little special this time of year. I’ve been carefully curating a gallery of “curlspiration” over on Pinterest, and these are a few of the styles I used as inspiration for my own holiday ‘do.

Sabon Bath Products

Dry skin abounds during the winter months (for me at least). So I dashed into Sabon to treat myself and walked away with enough goodies to keep my skin smooth and supple well into spring.

Sparkly jewels and baubles are the perfect finishing touch to any holiday ensemble. I had a grand ‘ole time digging into my jewelry stash and piling on the bling.  Zou Bisou Bijoux!

And of course I couldn’t forget my party shoes! I’ve fallen in love with these jewel-heeled shoes from Urban Outfitters, and they offer a welcome respite from the clunky winter boots I’ve been trudging around in as of late.

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

Happy Monday, and cheers to a 3-day work week!

While I’m busy getting my Thanksgiving menu a few final touches, I just wanted to share with you a few things that are bringing a smile to my face as of late. Enjoy!

Lancel Tote Bag

For me, a stylish tote bag is always a must-have item. And as much I love my LV Neverfull, it’s nice to have an bag that I won’t see dangling off the arm of every other woman on the subway.  It’s normally pretty tough to find Lancel bags in the US, so I immediately pounced when I saw this lovely caramel tote deeply discounted at Century 21 (my second home).

Pearl Ring via Berricle

Ahhh… if I could spend my days draped in diamonds and pearls, I’d be a happy camper. Until that happens, I’ll stay contented with my new freshwater pearl ring given to me by the gracious folks over at Berricle.com. I love how it’s delicate and refined, but still makes a statement.

Seche Vite Quick Dry Nail Polish

My co-worker hipped me to Seche Vite, and it’s hands-down the BEST topcoat ever. I rarely have time to polish my nails these days, but this stuff helps dry my nails to hard, smooth, glossy finish in not time flat! Ok… more like 10-15 minutes, but still!

Vintage Mink Trim Coat

I’ve been seriously slacking on my thrift store pimpin’, but I ducked into No Relation Vintage recently and emerged victorious. This mink-trimmed beauty only set me back $40, and I can’t wait to wear it to holiday parties. I’m planning to swap out the buttons for something more blingy, but for now I’ve covered it in festive crystal brooches.

Falcon Crest

My husband teases me, but I cannot get enough of cheesy 80s nighttime soap operas. I spent all summer finishing up Dynasty, and have now moved on to Falcon Crest. Unfortunately, I’ve only been able to find the first three seasons online. I’m dying to know what happens after the plane crash!

fall foliage

After some serious wind gusts over the weekend, these leaves are all pretty much gone. But it was SO BEAUTIFUL while it lasted.
