Delicious (and healthy) Italian food, plus all pink everything..?

Well go ahead, and sign me up!

After seeing it’s bubble gum pink exterior pop up all over my Instagram feed for ages, I finally made my way downtown to Pietro Nolita. And of course, I just had to dress for the occasion in a fun, girly head-to-toe pink ensemble. Not gonna lie, I felt kinda basic when I strolled up and saw a line of women waiting outside to take pictures. But hey, sometimes a gal’s gotta do what a gal’s gotta do for the ‘gram…

In addition to having the cutest decor, the food was also pretty good. Their schtick is “healthy” Italian, and I will say that I felt much lighter and more energetic than I usually do after stuffing my face full of pasta. We started with the goat cheese and oat tomato crositini and split fusilli al limone and chicken on the brick for our main entrees. Everything was great, but the pasta especially knocked it out of the park for me. We left feeling full, but not overstuffed, and even saved room for dessert at the OddFellows Ice Cream Co. pop-up shop around the corner (they’re caramel popcorn cone is to die for).

If you ever find yourself in Manhattan and decide to give Pietro Nolita a whirl, be sure to dress the part. The dress I’m wearing is sold out in pink on H&M’s website, but it also comes in white and blue. But no need to fret, ‘cuz I’ve rounded up a few more options for you below to help you on your way to totally pinked out bliss!

About the Fit:
This dress fits like a dream, and it’s hard to go wrong. I got my normal size and was able to wear it straight off the rack with no issues. I LOVE the fact that it has pockets, and the shorter length is perfect on my 5’7″ frame without showing off all the goods. 😉

Around Town: Exploring Washington Heights

exploring-washington-heights-fort-tryon-park-5{Zara Trench (also love this one), Comme Des Garçons Play Tee, Levi’s High-Rise Skinny Jeans, Salvatore Ferragamo Sunglasses, Cambridge Satchel Crossbody, Burberry Sneakers}

It’s been almost three months so far in our new neighborhood, and we’re still loving it just as much as when we first moved in. Over the weekend, we went exploring a few blocks north to Fort Tryon Park for a a bite to eat at New Leaf Restaurant (a hidden gem that’s quickly becoming one of our favorite brunch spots) and to explore the beautiful Met Cloisters museum (definitely worth the trek uptown if you’re ever in the city). Afterwards, we meandered down to the waterfront to walk the banks of the Hudson and get an up close view of the George Washington Bridge and the Little Red Lighthouse.

There was only a slight chill in the air, so I just tossed on my trench coat from Zara before heading out. This is hands-down one of my favorite purchases of the season. You really can’t go wrong with a classic trench coat, and this one is polished enough to wear to the office but works just as well for my weekend excursions. It’s also water-resistant which is a huge plus. My Comme Des Garçons Play tee is another treasured piece in my wardrobe. I’ll be honest, I initially balked at the price, but I’ve had it for several years, and it still looks and feels as good as new with regular wearing. From a cost-per-wear standpoint, I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth.

Speaking of cost-per-wear… let’s talk about these Burberry sneakers. They’ve been in my possession closet to 5 years and have gone with me on countless adventures. Seriously, I’ve taken them on pretty much every vacation from strolling along the canals of Venice to exploring caves and forests in the Adirondacks. Somehow they manage to just go with everything. Once these wear out, I have no doubt that I’ll pony up the funds for a replacement.

Lastly, this Cambridge Satchel crossbody bag is another workhorse in my wardrobe. I love the fact that I can fit my laptop inside, so it’s perfect for those days when I’m running to client meetings and events al over the city. On the weekends, I can pack my camera and a spare lens with room to spare.

All-in-all, I’m completely smitten with the Washington Heights area. And I know there’s still tons more ground for us to cover over the coming months. I can’t wait to share my new discoveries with you all, so thanks for stopping by!

Around Town {Parker & Quinn}

bb-hm-maxi-dress{H&M Maxi Dress, Schutz Gladiator Sandals, Banana Republic Hat}

The temps have finally started to cool down in NYC, and I’m loving it. The mornings are crisp enough for cardigan or light jacket, and the afternoons are absolute bliss with temps in the low 70s or high 60s. So while I wait to break out my boots and sweaters, I’m enjoying this time with great transitional pieces like this long-sleeve maxi dress that I picked up over the summer. I recently wore it to a weekend jaunt to Parker & Quinn for drinks and an early dinner after an afternoon of power shopping.
