30 for 30: What Am I Getting Myself Into…?

I’ve wanted to take Kendi’s 30 for 30 Challenge for a while now but always found out about it too late.

Well, not this time!

While I am pretty excited about testing my skills as a wardrobe remixer, I’m a little anxious about one tiny aspect: No shopping for 30 days!

Eek! How did I miss that little detail before? In any case, I’m up for the challenge and can’t wait to see how I pull this off.  Stay tuned for my round-up.

Are any of you gals planning to take the challenge as well?  COME ON… you know you want to!

Closet Raid: How To Wear a Leather Skirt at Work

leather_skirt

When you think of office-appropriate attire, a leather skirt probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. I picked up this amazing bronze leather pencil version at a thrift store a while back and immediately saw its potential for adding some spice to my weekday wardrobe.

Below are 4 looks that can help put some oomph into your work week!

This one works for even the most conservative environments. Normally, I hate wearing suits because they often seem so stuffy. The skirt gives the look some attitude while still staying polished and professional.

I love the juxtaposition of a feminine silk chiffon blouse paired with a bossy leather skirt.  This is a great way to mix up an otherwise boring workday.

Whenever I’m having a bad case of the Mondays, adding a few luxe elements to my ensemble always help cheer me up.  This would be a great outfit to wear if you were headed out to dinner and drinks after work or to the office holiday party.

Ahhh… the perfect casual Friday outfit.  Donning a leather skirt is a great way to round out the work week when paired with a cozy knit sweater and chic ankle boots.

HA, I WISH!

No, I haven’t suddenly moved into a mansion (yet!).  This is just me killing some time before my friend’s wedding.

Yes, I was a bridesmaid.  And no, this was not the dress I wore to actual wedding…

Although this would have been way more comfortable since it was absolutely frrreezing, and our dresses were sleeveless!  I tried wearing my circle scarf, but the bride wasn’t having it.

Oh well, you can’t blame me for trying.

Although I did slip back into my cozy knee socks after the reception.

P.S. In case you were wondering… Yes, this is the same dress that I wore apple picking, just in a different color.
