Despite having Monday off, this has been a loooooooong week.  It’s been an endless stream of back-to-back meetings, conference calls, and after-work events.  I’m looking forward to a nice weekend of relaxing and recharging.  At times like these, the last thing I want to think about in the morning is what to wear.  So I find myself reaching for an old stand-by: head-to-toe black.  And why not?  It’s simple. It’s chic.  And when you mix up the textures and throw in a surprise element (in my case, an oversized leopard clutch), the look is far from boring.

As much as I love warm weather, fall is truly the most wonderful time of the year fashion-wise.  I picked up this tweed dress not too long ago, and I love how I can dress it up for work with heels and tights or go completely casual for the weekend with a canvas jacket and ankle boots.

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have caught me wearing this dress during my recent business trip to San Francisco (sidenote: I have yet to be able to recreate that hairdo in NYC’s humid climate… le sigh…).  The dress was a random find, but it’s quickly become one of my go-to statement pieces when I want to look “professional-yet-fun”.
