Natural Cold Remedy: Homemade Ginger Tea

Natural Cold Remedy

The holidays are in full swing, business is booming, and I have tons of meetings this week before I wrap things up for Christmas and New Year’s.  So of course, my body decides to come down with cold this weekend. I’m determined to knock this thing out before Friday, and since rest is not an option… le sigh… I’m turning to another natural cold remedy: this AWESOME ginger tea concoction I just whipped up. Check it out, and let me know what you think if you decide to try it…

The Remedy:

  • 3 cups of boiling hot water
  • 2 inches of thinly sliced ginger
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper

Bring ginger to a boil in a medium sauce pan. Remove from heat and add lemon juice, honey, and cayenne pepper. Let the mixture steep for 15 minutes. Afterwards, just strain the ginger, sip, and be well… hopefully!

When I had the flu last week I drank a lot of David’s Super Ginger tea. They also have a less spicy version called Sweet Ginger Heat, but I liked the peppery version, which calmed my stomach too. Feel better, it’s a tiring season!
